Overview

A luxury full-service hotel is seeking an experienced and hands-on Director of Finance to lead the finance and accounting operations in the heart of Philadelphia. This role oversees all on-property financial functions, partners closely with ownership and corporate stakeholders, and leads a well-established accounting team. The ideal candidate brings deep hotel finance expertise, strong leadership capabilities, and the ability to drive operational excellence in a dynamic, high-volume environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead all on-property accounting operations, including financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting, payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
  • Ensure compliance with ownership, brand, and regulatory financial standards while maintaining strong internal controls.
  • Oversee monthly closing processes, manage audits, and produce accurate and timely financial statements.
  • Provide financial guidance to hotel leadership, supporting strategic planning, operational decision-making, and cost optimization.
  • Mentor and develop the accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
  • Analyze financial performance, identify risks and opportunities, and recommend actions that support profitability and long-term success.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a business-related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive finance experience, including 5+ years in a senior hotel finance leadership role.
  • Proven ability to manage all property-level accounting functions in a high-performing, full-service hotel environment.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional partners.
  • Hands-on, detail-oriented, and comfortable leading change within a tenured team.
